What is Manual S?

Once you know your load, the next step is choosing equipment that can actually meet it. Manual S — the ACCA standard for residential equipment selection — ensures the system you spec is the right fit for the home, not just what's available in the warehouse.

Not all HVAC equipment performs the same under real operating conditions. Manual S uses manufacturer extended performance data — verified against AHRI-certified matchups — to confirm your selected system will meet both sensible and latent load requirements at actual design conditions.

LoadSpec runs Manual S in conjunction with Manual J, giving you a complete, coordinated report package that demonstrates proper system selection to inspectors, customers, and quality-control reviewers.

Pricing: Manual J + S starting at $185 for homes 2,000 sq ft and under, 1 system. Additional systems at $25 per system.
